Everything about Gorp Netherlands totally explained

Gorp is a hamlet in the municipality of Hilvarenbeek, which is situated in the south of the Netherlands, along the border with Belgium. Once historically separate from the town of Hilvarenbeek, it has become a de facto neighborhood of this larger town. It was the birthplace of Johannes Goropius Becanus (1519-1572), the physician, linguist, and humanist, whose Latinized surname is derived from the town's name.
Inhabitants of Gorp are sometimes called gorpies. Legend has it that a group of little monsters, called gorpies, once also inhabited the town. After midnight, the gorpies turned bad into a bundh of gorps (see also, Gremlins, movie).
